A common palm oil-pressing factory can discharge approximately 1,000 tons of oil wastewater every day, which may result in an incredibly polluted environment. With the adoption of the oil removal-air flotation-AF-SBR combined process, a large-scale palm oil refinery in Malaysia can handle up to 1,080m3 of sewage at the point of peak production every day. The system may produce significant sludge and some grease, so the strippability of the filter cloth is highly demanded. Moreover, the mud cake after dehydration features high organic content that can then be used as an organic fertilizer. Therefore, the water content rate in mud cake is strictly controlled.
